Expanded View

In this example we’ll show you the steps for Control Panel but this will work with the other items on the Start Menu as well.

To show Control Panel items in Expanded View in Windows 7 right-click the taskbar and select Properties.

Click the Start Menu tab then the Customize button.

From the list under Control Panel select Display as a menu then click OK.

That’s it! Now when you hover the mouse pointer over Control Panel on the Start Menu, all of the items are displayed as a list in expanded view.

Maybe you want to show your pictures in expanded view…just follow the same steps as above by selecting Display as a menu.

Or here is an example of Games in expanded view from the Start Menu.

This is a single continuous dolly shot. There were no edits, despite what you may think when watching it. It only cost about $500.00 to shoot the entire film using a Canon 5D Mark II. It was meant to look stripped down like an elementary school play, and I think that they completely nailed that aspect of it.

Book lovers mourning the demise of hardcover books with their heft and their musty smell need a reality check, said Mike Shatzkin, founder and chief executive of the Idea Logical Company, which advises book publishers on digital change. “This was a day that was going to come, a day that had to come,” he said. He predicts that within a decade, fewer than 25 percent of all books sold will be print versions.

The shift at Amazon is “astonishing when you consider that we’ve been selling hardcover books for 15 years, and Kindle books for 33 months,” the chief executive, Jeffrey P. Bezos, said in a statement.

Still, the hardcover book is far from extinct. Industrywide sales are up 22 percent this year, according to the American Publishers Association.

The growth rate of Kindle sales tripled after Amazon lowered the price of the device in late June to $189 from $259, Amazon said. That was moments after Barnes & Noble dropped the price of its Nook e-reader to $199 from $259.

For those of you who may not be aware of it, you can download free software from Amazon, to view e-books right on your computer. This means that you do not even have to purchase a Kindle to view e-books. I have tried this and it works very well. I have enjoyed reading some of the old classics for free.

But the one question remains. Will e-books eventually replace hardcover books and drive the book publishing industry out of business?

I honestly thought that after all these years I had seen it all. I truly thought nothing more could completely shock me to the point where I stared at the computer screen with my mouth hanging open. However, reading about this particular new little invention was sort of like a train wreck: you know you have to keep going, but you cannot help but stop and stare.

The Kickbee is a belt-like device that a pregnant woman wears around her stomach. Every time the little bundle of joy kicks mommy square in the ribs or bladder, a tweet or text message will be sent out letting the expectant Daddy know. The trouble is… everyone following the momma-to-be will know, as well. Is this really something a Dad wants to see? I asked a few friends who either are expecting children or have small tots running around. Not a single one of them showed any interest at all in this gadget.
